Paddy Field

The wide view of Paddy Field in Sekinchan show different feeling in different time. In the month of March and September are the rice transplanting period, the view of the paddy field is green. During the harvest season, June and December, the paddy field is look like gold yellow colour.
 
Bagan Fishing Village

Bagan is the main fishing village in Sekinchan and it’s located along the river and small seaport, south-west of the town. You can’t get fresher than this haul! And whilst the variety isn’t astounding like it is at a huge pasar borong, the choices are still decently plentiful and prices are cheaper than the big cities. It’s not that much cheaper especially once you factor in your petrol costs and toll charges but it’s the inane freshness of the seafood here that you simply cannot beat.
 
Redang Beach

Redang Beach is a small beach in the coastal area, Redang beach is a windy beach, there is one small tributary near to the beach, this tributary is main access route for the fishing boat to go to the ocean. Every evening, fishing boat come back to Sekinchan from Strait Of Malacca, this beach will become a busy and the view of beach become more beautiful with the fishing boat. Redang Beach Sekinchanis the best place to see sunset during evening.

Wishing Tree

Located at the Pantai Redang, the famous wishing tree is the must go place for every visitors. Stand next to the local temple, the wishing tree was fully covered by the red cloth which represent the hope and wish of every visitor. Visitors wrote their wish on the red cloth and threw it onto the tree, which symbolize their wish could come true.

Migratory Birds Watching in Sekinchan

The tropical climate of Malaysia allows bird watching to be a year-round activity. Of course, visitors will have to keep the rainy season in mind when planning excursions and take along rain gear or a poncho. Rain usually falls heaviest from September to January atSekinchan. Migratory birds get in Malaysia's west coast flyway from Sumatra and beyond with peak movements in April and October.

Due to the location of Sekinchan facing the Malacca Strait and located in the middle of South China Sea and Jawa Island, there are many migratory birds. Sekinchan are a costal fishing village and also a large paddy field area where you are able to see open country birds. Particularly, winter months are worthwhile to visit. The wetland where the bird inhabiting has become a new tourist attraction and many photographers like to visit here for migratory birds watching and photo taking. You can easily access to the habitation of migratory birds by driving along Lorong 5 and Lorong 6 at Bagan Village. Sekinchan is a good place for migratory birds watching.

Place of Worship - Religious Culture in Sekinchan

The two main industries in Sekinchan are farming and fishing, these two industries are highly depend to the weather. The villagers always play for calm of ocean and rich in harvest. There are a lot of Chinese temples. The main Chinese temple we should visit is Nan Tian Temple a temple in the middle of paddy field.

Swiftlet Farming in Sekinchan

Sekinchan also upholds its reputation as the town with the swiftlet nests (Birds' Nests). Swiftlet nests are also better known or more commonly known in the food industry as birds’ nests. Many people especially Chinese believe that birds’ nests are luxurious food that contain many health benefits. In the paddy field (padi fields) in Sekinchan is dotted with many customised building structures that are the homes of the swiftlets. Visitors can take a look inside these structures that have been specially constructed for the swiftlets to build their nests. Swiftlet farming is a new a industry, about 100 units of bird house has been build up in the middle of paddy field, this make a new beautiful view in the paddy field of Sekinchan.
 

Paddy Factory

PLS Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd (or Kilang Beras Rakyat Sekinchan Sdn Bhd) is the one of the paddy processing factory allow tourist to visit their factory.

You can buy the Pearl Rice at this factory. Pearl Rice (珍珠米)is very popular in Sekinchan, a special product from PLS Marketing. In the year end of 2013, PLS has developed aPaddy Museum in their factory, visitor guides will show a video to the visitors about the process of the paddy plantation with a mechanized planting method. they will explain the process of paddy planting and paddy processing to the visitors. Visitors need purchase a ticket to visit the museum and listen to explanation of the paddy planting process.

Ah Ma House

Ah Ma House is a specialty cake and biscuit store in Sekinchan. The main product is Ah Ma Cake , they are selling some traditional biscuit like pineapple tart, kuih bangkit, kuih kapit ect. All the recipes are from their grandmother with traditional village (Kampung) taste. Ah Ma mean grandmother in Hokkien. Home Of Ah Ma also provide tourist car service to the tourist. Grandma’s Yellow Cake may be one of the famous snacks in Sekinchan. Previously, this yellow cake can only be bought from one of the souvenir shops. But now, “Grandma’s Yellow Cake” finally have their very own storefront – “Grandma’s home”. “Grandma’s home” is located beside a small road along the paddy field. This vintage little shop is furnished with furnitures, kitchen utensils and even toys that only can be found in the old days. In addition to yellow cake, “Grandma’s home” is also selling other traditional biscuits, snacks and bird’s nest. On Saturday and Sunday, tourists can come here and discover the production of these cakes.In addition, you can rent a bicycle or purchase sightseeing tour ticket here.

Chin Huat Fishball Factory

Chin Huat Fishball is one of the fishball manufacturer in Sekinchan, they start their work for the processing of fishball at early morning, about 5am. The production quantity per day is about 700kg. The secret of the good taste of fishball is the fresh fish from Sekinchan. They suggest visitor to visit them at the afternoon time to purchase various variety of processed seafood product.

La Familia Orchard

Although Sekinchan is known for it’s fishing industry and rice paddies, fruit plantation is also one of the main sources of income.The orchard is one of the famous orchards in Sekinchan. The main plantation here are the rose apple (Jambu) and lime. Though, you can find some other fruits here, such as grapefruit, sapodilla, green lemon and Sekinchan famous mango king. La Familia Orchard is open to visitors for free on weekends and public holidays. Visitors can come here to experience the fruit picking and distribution process. Besides the fruits that picked right from the backyard, you can also buy some local souvenirs and some beverage at the open space in front of the orchard.

Firefly Tour
